Veronica Castillo from Portland, Oregon, thought she hit an over $8 million jackpot at a Washington state casino, until the bosses told her that the machine had malfunctioned and there would be no prize. Although not a big gambler, Castillo went with her mother to Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester, Washington, on Nov.
An Oregon woman is pretty upset after she says a slot machine showed she won an $8 million jackpot, but she was only paid $80. Veronica Castillo is a mortgage loan officer from Oregon.
All those sort of thoughts probably raced to the mind of Veronica Castillo as she saw the amount of $8,589,298.89 on the screen of a slot machine. Veronica was playing at the Lucky Eagle Casino and realized her life would change soon after she put in $100.
Veronica Castillo Casino Outcome
One unfortunate woman from Oregon thought that she had hit a slots jackpot worth more than $8.5 million, only to be told moments later that the machine was malfunctioning and that she would receive just $80 instead. Beaverton resident Veronica Castillo was visiting the Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester, Washington when she ended up hitting the huge jackpot on the Jurassic Riches slot machine. Castillo even recorded the apparently life-changing event on her mobile phone, with her photo showing the massive amount on the slot’s lower left corner. Apparently, casino security subsequently moved in and told her the machine was at fault, before preventing her from further recording the slot machine. Needless to say, Veronica Castillo says she feels hugely disappointed and cheated by her experience, and talking to the Katu News outlet explained: “They come and spend thousands and thousands in the hopes of winning a big prize. I did. So they just carelessly come and tell you ‘guess what, the machine is malfunctioning we cannot pay you.’” In contrast, more pleasant news was reported last month after 26-year-old UK Lance Corporal Jon Heywood won a little over $20 million (£13,213,838) playing the Mega Moolah progressive slot on internet gambling site Betway.com. That figure represents the largest ever online slots jackpot in history, beating the previous record set by a Finnish player in 2013 by roughly $20,000. Describing his emotions at the time, Heywood said: “I couldn’t believe that I’d won all this money at the time – and it still hasn’t sunk in.. I thought it was a hoax at first. I thought ‘no, this isn’t real. I haven’t slept well since Tuesday and haven’t stopped drinking champagne.”
