Then this is the video for you! In this tutorial video I go over how to edit a video from beginning to render with some helpful hints and how-t. This course was designed with complete beginners in mind, and will quickly & easily teach you a complete, end to end video editing process using the most recent version of Sony Vegas Pro. Once you've mastered those fundamentals, we'll move on and discover how to enhance your videos with a wide variety of industry standard video editing.
1. Look before you cross the street:
Look left, right, and even UP! If you are trying to cross Las Vegas Blvd, there may be a pedestrian bridge above you for your convenience and safety. If there IS one, then USE IT!!! You wouldn’t cross an 8 lane freeway in your hometown, would you?
2. Things probably cost more:
We understand that this place is a little different with our bright lights, sea of slot machines, drinking at all times of the day and night. Please try to understand that the rent in some of these buildings are probably slightly higher than the town you’re from that probably has less people living in it that work at the MGM hotel. In order for business owners to pay the rent, you’re probably not gonna have the same beer prices as the local bar where you’re from. That’s not a choice, that’s just economics.
If you think something is priced way too cheap to be true, guess what? It probably is… Be wary of anyone promising free this and free that, there’s almost always a catch, and almost nothing in this town is genuinely free
4. Tip tip tip:
I understand you may be on a budget, but remember that we make our living off our tips. If you would like quality service with a genuine smile in a timely manner, maybe you should tip. That’s what tips are for; you take care of me, I’ll take care of you. If you don’t want to tip, you can’t be mad when you’re waiting for your drinks/food/service longer than the next person… They actually tipped…
5. We pre-game harder than you party, and then work a full shift afterwards:
You may be from Wisconsin or some college town in the middle of the USA or some other place where they pride themselves on their ability to hold their liquor. Here’s the bottom line… Unless you live in a place where you can drink 24/7, you can walk around the streets in broad daylight with a drink that is so big it literally has a strap on it so you can carry it around, then you really have no idea what you’re talking about. We wake up early to hit the pool party by 10am, we hit the showers in time for happy hour at 5pm, we are at the club by 10pm so we can get our VIP table with bottles of liquor, we hit after-hours or the local bar by 4am and the sun is coming up before we have even cashed out to go home. After all that, guess what? We go to work, in a town that has more tourism than some entire states generate!!!
6. Don’t take the merchant copy of the credit card slips:
We appreciate you signing your credit card slip and adding a tip to it, but when you take it with you??? We have to enter a zero tip and charge the card only for the authorized amount. This is essentially the same as stiffing your service staff, and a good way to be served last
7. Go to the taxi line to catch a cab:
You know the reason why you’ve been standing on Las Vegas blvd for 20 minutes and all these vans are just passing you by? That’s because it’s ILLEGAL for them to stop and pick you up on the street!!! There are lines of cabs at every hotel just WAITING for you to get in, trust me!!!
8. The hotel room:
The most important factor when booking a hotel room is LOCATION!!! You can have the nicest room with all the amenities you can think of, for the priciest price ever… But how much time are you really spending in the room? If you’re like me, the only time spent in a Vegas hotel room is sleep, shower and grooming, a nap if you go a little too hard, pre-game and *ahem* a few other unmentionable extra-curricular activities. Other than that, your room is wasting money you could be using for other stuff.
Casino bonus mobile. 9. Drink names and ingredients vary by geographic region:
One recipe may call for different ingredients based on what part of the country (or what country) you are from. If you order a drink and the bartender looks at you funny, don’t act like they’re a moron for not knowing what the name for a common cocktail is called where you’re from. Tell them the ingredients and they will most likely let you know the name it is called so the next time you order, you actually get what you want. 10. The United States does not have portable electronic credit card scanners (yet):
So when you want to pay a server with your card and they don’t bring a machine to the table, they are not trying to steal your card info, we just DO NOT HAVE THE EQUIPMENT!!! I apologize for America being behind the times in nearly every aspect of everything, but that’s just how it is.
It took me almost 30 years to visit Las Vegas (Sin City). Since then I've been to Vegas 17 times and counting. My husband and I can't get enough of this free-spirited, entertaining city and we are constantly planning our next trip!

If you have never been to Vegas and have always wanted to go, here are some tips to get you started:
Walk up and down the strip on both sides at least once. Not only is this entertaining for people watching, but it's good exercise and it's a great way to see the city. If you are going inside every hotel along the way, this could be a full day or longer. Don't be surprised what you see. You will see people handing out cards for strippers. You will see homeless people. You will see people wearing costumes trying to take pictures with you (for a nice tip of course). Literally 'anything goes' in Vegas. When random people try to stop you to sell you things or ask for money, 'just say no,' and keep walking. TIFF'S TOP TIP: The strip is a LOT longer than it looks. The Stratosphere is not just 'right there' so wear comfortable shoes when walking the strip. Your feet will thank you!
You do not have to be a gambler to have fun in Vegas. There ARE SO MANY things to do in Vegas. Many concerts come to town as well as an array of amazing shows. There are SO MANY awesome restaurants in Vegas. TIFF's TOP TIP: Go to Hash Hash A Go-Go and get the chicken and waffles and share it with someone because it's huge and YUMMY! While you're there, get one of their famous Bloody Mary's too.
Vegas is NOT cheap. If you are looking for an inexpensive vacation, this is NOT IT unless you are traveling with someone who gambles a ton and has a lot of comps. Free drinks and cheap food is hard to come by in Vegas. You may be able to act like you are gambling to get a free drink or two, but that's about it unless you are truly gambling. You may be able to get a dollar hotdog or shrimp cocktail in downtown Vegas (warning, it may taste a little sketchy). TIFF's TOP TIP: Research Groupons before you head to Vegas. You may be able to save a lot of money on restaurants and things to do with a Groupon. I've actually planned a Vegas trip before based entirely on Groupons I purchased.
Don't eat too many buffets. A lot of them are overpriced unless you eat a ton. Plus, you really don't want to get too full where you want to fall asleep. You are in VEGAS for crying out loud..don't waste too much time napping. TIFF's TOP TIP: Go to the Flamingo Brunch Buffet (there may be a Groupon for it too!). Unlimited mimosas and Bloody Mary's are included in the less than $20 price. Not only are they yummy and they are delivered to your table, this may be one of your best bargains in Vegas! Side note, the food is pretty good too. The buffet includes salads, breakfast including an omelet station, Italian and Mexican food and everything in between and an entire dessert bar including make your own crepes!
Check out Fremont Street and downtown (Old Vegas). If you are staying on the strip, you will need to take an Uber or Lyft there. Food and drinks tend to be a little cheaper downtown. Slots are looser and minimum table bids are lower for those who are gamblers. There's a zipline, a Heart Attack café, and additional interesting people watching downtown. TIFF's TOP TIP: Take your picture with the million dollars in the Golden Nugget (it's free!) and check out their pool that has a shark tank in it!
If you are going to Vegas between April and September, make sure to carve out time to enjoy the pool at your hotel. It literally took me a hand full of Vegas trips before I made my way to the pool. I've met so many fun people and Facebook friends (LOL) at Vegas pools Vegas is HOT so the pool is so REFRESHING. Plus, people watching at Vegas pools is quite entertaining! TIFF's TOP TIP: research pool parties before you go on Trip Advisor so you can plan your Hotel/pool experience ahead of time. Some pools like MGM have a lazy river. Others like Hard Rock and Mandalay Bay have a 'beach.' Some casinos like Tropicana have blackjack tables in the pool.
